My 93 yr old mother has an iPhone and is tryin to text with her grandchildren.
She has arthritis in her hands so She has difficulty working with such a small keyboard. Is there some kind of keyboard “tapping”
device she could buy to tap the letters instead of using her fingers?
The Apple Pencil is $100 and she doesn’t need a device like that

What you want is a *stylus*—that is the term you want—for iPhone. Any basic stylus, with a soft “spongy” tip, can tap the screen keyboard, apps on home screen, etc. A basic stylus is very cheap.
A more advanced stylus has a narrower tip and can be used for tapping, handwriting, drawing, etc. These are usually more expensive, depending on brand and features.

I suggest buying a Bluetooth keyboard compatible with iPhone. As an example, I found this keyboard on Amazon:

I’m not recommending this product, specifically, but something like this could work. Look at different features that would be best for your grandmother, such as weight, size, backlighted keys, etc. Costs vary.
