Turn off second monitor

Hi. I have two external monitors connected to my Macbook. Can I turn off one monitor without disconnecting its hdmi cable?

For example, I have two monitors connected by hdmi to my Macbook at the same time, but image is showing only on one.

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.15

Hello there VIK_777,

I understand you have two external displays connected to your MacBook and you would like to know if you can stop showing video to one display without physically unplugging it. If the display has a power button you could simply turn it off there. Otherwise these resources can explain how to use multiple external displays with your MacBook.

If your second display is simply not showing video as expected, you may want to try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Plug the display into a different port.
  2. Restart the computer.
  3. Try a different HDMI cable.
  4. Double check display settings located in Apple menu> System Preferences>Displays

Cheers!
