iPod Touch Activation Lock
we found my dad’s old iPod that he said I could have, but he doesn’t remember his Apple ID information so we’re unable to access the iPod. Is there anyway to factory reset the phone or change the user on it?

The iPod touch is locked with Activation Lock. There is no way around unlocking Activation Lock without inserting the device’s associated Apple ID. If this is not an option you will have to find the original receipt for the device that clearly shows the serial number. Once you have this document you can have Apple unlock your iPod touch.
