Corrupted .plist

I was having a problem not being able to make a new folder, it opened with every item on my desktop. I followed directions from one help site and ended up deleting the .plist and The problem is not resolved. How do I get a new .plist and fix my folder problem?

Hello,


It is not a good idea to modify Apple’s system .plist files. At this point you would be better of re-installing macOS.
