Are both sides of my Macbook Pro supposed to be releasing air or just one side?

My Macbook seems to only release air through the right vents, I am wondering if this just because my laptop doesn't require the use of both vents at the time or if my laptop is damaged?

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.15

Depending on which build model year MacBook Pro 13-inch portable you have

the answer may change. ~ So far, the best guess on historical build info: Exit air

all blows out one portal, near midway below center of display by the hinge.

Intake had been on the side of the MacBook Pro 13" body.

My mid2012 MacBook Pro 13-inch (non-Retina) is similar to most.

Newer configurations may have internal arrangements differently.

Good luck & happy trails!🌞
