External Monitor Screen Stretched

Hi,

I just bought an LG 29WK600 ultrawide monitor and I connected my MacBook to the monitor with the provided HDMI cable. The only bit of software I installed on my Mac was OnSreen and I couldn't find any specific drivers installation for mac on LG's website. The problem is that my screen isn't showing in the full 2560x1920 resolution and is stretched an super ugly. Can anyone help me out with this issue please?
