Delete key only works if text highlighted

Delete key only works if text highlighted

The key is not stuck ... it works, but only if I highlight text. Simply pressing "Delete," nothing happens. This is cross-App / all programs.

This is a MacBook Pro, 2019 ... OS updated. The arrow keys are also acting strange. Back arrow goes to beginning of line instead of just one character back. Forward arrow goes to bottom of page. Down arrow goes to bottom of page.

What's going on :(

It's so hard to tell on these low-profile keyboards when a key is stuck :) Other questions in the community led me to figure out it was the function keys ... but it took a while of pressing FN1 etc. over and over with Delete to discover it was the hard-key that was stuck

The Fn key was stuck. The one on the lower right of keyboard ... under the left Shift key. TOOK FOREVER TO FIGURE OUT :)
