Solution found for my catalina-bricked 13" mid -2014 macbook pro retina

I don't know how long this post will remain up due to Apple's extremely bad support, Jobs only active, lasting legacy. The early May Catalina update completely bricked my MBP. After the update, the screen had a "vertical roll" several times and required several restarts. It went to sleep that night and never woke back up. It was completely dead. Even the MagSafe charger didn't light up when attached. I did the disconnect/reconnect to the battery and tried to restart it. Nothing.

I bought the OWC Envoy Pro for my particular SSD, attached it to my 27" iMac and it appeared on the desktop with no observable data. I did a basic first aid and repair hoping I wasn't screwing up my data.

I put the SSD back into my laptop and voilà! IT WORKS! Doing an immediate back up and crossing my fingers! I'm just sorry I didn't try to copy and paster what the repair was, it was extremely quick though, about 20 seconds.
