Can I see real time gps data while I’m exercising?
When using my Apple Watch 4, is it possible to see real time GPS data for my workout? I’d like to see where I have been especially when hiking in state parks.

Your watch will record a map of your route but you won't see it until you have finished the workout.The map is viewable in the workout section of the activity app on the phone.
