Apple watch GPS on cellular models
I have a cellular model SE. In theory, it could use either satellite-GPS or Cell-GPS. Which one does it use when tracking outdoors (in the absence of its paired iPhone)?

I am aware that it doesn't require cellular. I would imagine that my watch, which is a cellular model, would have both satellite-GPS AND cell-GPS available. My question is which one does it actually use when walking outside?
Yes it does, and if you have your phone with you the watch will use the satellite GPS of the phone in order to save watch battery.
The SE has built in satellite GPS and doesn't require any cellular service.
I just answered your question above.
Sorry, I did not find your answer very clear. Did you mean that the watch will use satellite-GPS even if is is a "cellular" model? (That is what I was hoping!)
Thanks’
