Thinking of buying a HomePod but worried it won’t work in our apartment. There’s 60 flats all running on the buildings own WiFi, with login and password screen which pops up. Will I be able to connect the HomePod via MAC input or through my phone as I understand I can’t directly connect with the original method.

The Homepod takes its wifi SSID and password settings from your iPhone (assuming it is logged into your apartment wifi) and so, in theory, it should be okay. But there are reports of people having difficulties with shared wifi. Best try contacting Apple support and speak to someone.
