How can I delete purchases from purchase history or hidden purchases
This still doesn't quite make sense to me, in terms of money. And, I do know that with these monolithic corporations it is always about maximizing profits. The suggestion that they force you to keep a book visible, in your library, so that the customer can download it again without additional charges, isn't believable. Apple has lovely customer service but I don't for one minute believe the motive is anything other than good customer relations=more customers. All that said, can someone explain why denying me the right to delete a book results in a profit for Apple?
Thanks for all the responses.

It’s not about money, it’s about financial records. This is like your bank account or your credit or debit card account. You can’t delete payments or credits on your statements or history from any of them; they will be there forever. The Apple purchase history is the same concept.
You can't.
Maybe this Apple document will help.
Delete book and audiobook downloads from your device
See this Apple support article—>See your purchase history for the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support
You will still see it there.
Does anybody know the reason for this? Any workaround?
Because once you buy something, you own it forever. If you ever want to re-download it, you can do so at no charge.
Oh, dear. Well I knew that but I guess I assumed since I bought it I could delete it. Sort of like clearing out my bookshelves at home.
As others have said, apple makes this impossible - pretty retarded if you ask me. They even put *free* applications in this list.
Incredible!!
It worked.
Thank you so much.
