Can you import a list of text replacements to iPhone?

Birding folks use 4 or 6-letter abbreviations for bird species - called banding codes because they are used when banding birds. It's also a nice way to abbreviate when texting fellow birders. However, since not everyone knows the codes, it would be nice to type 'nrws' and have it expand to Northern Rough-wing Swallow. Being able to import a list of 200-300 would be really nice. Is it possible? Through iCloud maybe?

Thanks

To clarify, I'm not trying to move to a new iPhone. I was hoping there was a way to import the list and thought perhaps using iCloud would be a way to do that. If there is a place my text replacements are saved in iCloud, can I edit that? Even using a computer keyboard would be easier than typing in individually on the iPhone.

As for the second part of your answer, are you saying I should suggest this to Apple because it is currently not an option?
