Hello jpsmd
From what I'm understanding, you're asking if having headphones plugged in is disabling the microphones on your iPhone, correct?
On a phone call with the headphones plugged in, the phone will use the microphone on the headphone cable. If you switch to speakerphone, it will use to the phone's microphones.
Here is an article walking through features of the Apple headphones:
Use Apple headphones with your iPhone, iPad, and iPod
Hopefully this helps!
Cheers!
Hello jpsmd
Thank you for reply!
Here is an article on Data and Privacy with using Apple Products: Privacy Policy
You are able to turn off the 'Hey Siri" function in the Setting. Setting > Siri & Search > Turn Off Hey Siri. Here is an article on walk through steps on Siri, Speech Recognition and Privacy: Ask Siri, Dictation & Privacy
Hopefully this helps!
Cheers!
I understand that, thank you. This is more of a privacy issue for me. I would like to disable the microphones on my phone so that Siri isn't listening all the time. If I use the headphone adapter and use headphones without a mic, will I achieve that?
Hi Chris, thanks for the reply. I know that you can turn Siri off in settings, I'm just wondering if the microphones are still active 1), Siri is turned off in settings and 2), I have headphones plugged (with no mic on the headphones) using the lightning-headphone adapter.
