Why wont Security update 2020-003 10.13.6 load?

I was having this problem, too. I was always trying to open it when I was downloading it instead of saving it to a file and then opening it once it downloaded. Once I decided to save it to a file, it downloaded completely and I was able to install it.

Went here to get the download... https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2041?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

(if the link doesn't work, copy and paste it into your browser) Getting the update from the App Store doesn't allow you to save the file anywhere, as far as I know.

Click the Download button.

Choose "Save File" and click OK. I saved the file in a folder on my desktop. You just want to put it anywhere you can get to it.

Once it has completed the download (hopefully!), go to where you saved it, double click on the file and it will install the update

It was trying to auto update this at 11 pm on the 27th, which unnerved me, and seemed to have trouble completing. However, since then, been having trouble with my microphone when using MS Teams for work. Most annoying. Have to also call in then with my phone.

Same issue ... It tried to install and went from 43 to 42 minutes left; then failed. Tried several times and it did the same thing. Ran diagnostics and hardware checked out. Only issue with my machine was it was running hot with the fans on because I was running a game prior? Thanks.

If you mean why does it fail to install, I haven't seen a cure yet.

I'm keeping an eye out, but have had such trouble with the last few SecUpd that I haven't done this one.

It stops part way through the download (gets hung up...). I've tried restarting my computer three times and the download of this update still gets stuck...
