My IPhone 8 has a white screen with the Apple logo in black

my phone is stuck on a white screen with apple logo. the home button doesn't change anything. i have tried the volume up, volume down, side button on iPhone 8 but no change. i let the battery run out & have recharged, still no change. i need to retrieve data from the phone before turning it in after receiving replacement phone.
