What to do now. All apps have updated on new phone, software is updated, new phone works. Apple icon on watch face appears to be searching, cannot get the pairing screen to appear on watch face.

No . Old phone has no SIM card, old watch 2 is broken. I turned both old items off from a screen on new phone.
I tried with old phone and it wouldn't work, 6s software too old.
Apple support says the software has to be reloaded on the watch, I'm asking for a new one when they call me in 2 days, as this watch is brand new and never been used.
