What is the maximum software version that is available for Apple iPad Air 1st Generation?

The original iPad Air (i.e., first generation) has an Apple A7 processor and 1GB RAM - and cannot be updated beyond iOS 12.4.7 as it lacks the minimum hardware requirements for update to iPadOS 13.x.
Update Support for the original first generation iPad Air formally ended in September 2019 - although a few minor updates have since been released. The final supported version of iOS is iOS 12.4.7.
