Forgot encryption password to be able to restore iPhone

I tried to update my iPhone / and received an error / and have had to restore from my MacBook / I need the encrypted password which is stored on my iPhone and which I can't access.

Will the password be the same for all my devices?

please help

The password might be the same. It depends on what you set as the password.
