Update 10.15.4 would not finish running the update on my Mac Mini - I had to recover from time machine backup of the system just before .4 happened. Is anyone else seeing this problem and can 10.15.5 update run with out doing 10.15.4 first?

It's not necessary to install earlier updates.

Try downloading and installing this standalone "Combo" update: Download macOS Catalina 10.15.5 Combo Update
