Can't send or receive email on Iphone

My email account is with att.net

On my new Iphone, I have been unable to send or receive email since May 12. ATT says the problem is not on their end, but with Apple. When I click the link for password, the box disappears and won't allow me to enter the password.

Please go to mail account settings and enter a password" I do as instructed. It looks as though there is a password. I have tried reentering the password. I have also changed my password. I get the same message. I am not tech savvy and cannot seem to navigate the att/yahoo website.

Delete and reinstall the mail account.
