How to give different page setup margin in same Pages document

"Document margins" are set in Page Setup, and apply to all pages in the Document.

Margin stops—the downward pointing triangles at the left and right ends of the horizontal ruler—may be set anywhere inside the print area set by the Document margins by dragging them to the point you want text to start or stop. These margins will apply to the paragraph in which the insertion point is placed, or to paragraphs that had been selected when the stops were reset, and to any text added to the part ruled by this stop setting.

The Left Margin stop is also connected to the First line left margin stop. Both these stops move when the margin stop is moved, keeping the same distance apart. The First line stop, a rectangle, can be moved without affecting the position of the margin stop to create an indented first line, or a hanging indent that starts the first line of a paragraph to the left of the start of the rest of the lines in that paragraph.

None of these stops can be set outside the print area determined by the Document Margin settings.

Note that these margins do not apply to images or other objects, which can extend into the margin area set by either the Document Margin settings or the margin stops.

After taking the screen shot above, I decided the following paragraph should be included in this margin setting, as it contained the mention of the First line stop.

To attach the margin settings of the preceding paragraph to the one below took these steps:

Click immediately before "After"

press delete twice to remove the two Paragraph breaks (returns) separating the second paragraph from the first.

press return twice to bring the start of the second paragraph (which has picked up the formatting information from the first) to the same line on the page as it was before the change.

To my knowledge, there's no way to do that conventionally. Workarounds are pretty simple, though. Here's one that takes more time to read the instructions than to perform the actions.

Set the document top margin to 2

From the View menu, choose Show Layout to make the document margins visible.

From the Shapes button, insert a square.

Resize and reshape the square to a 1" tall by 6.5" wide.

Drag the square to align its top left corner with the intersection of the top and left margins on the layout.

In the Format inspector, Arrange section, with the rectangle selected, set the shape to Stay on Page, and leave the Wrap setting as Automatic.

Click on the style section and set the fill to none and the shape Border to none.

Go to the Arrange menu and choose Lock.

The result is shown below. Note the difference in top margins in the thumbnails for pages 1 and 2.

The image was captured with Show Layout active, the rectangle selected, and before Locking the image. The thumbnail image gives a closer approximation of the appearance of the actual page after the steps to make the rectangle invisible.
