Hello davidfromwewa,

It would probably be correct to assume that you are using a personal hotspot under iOS 12 on the iPhone 5s.

Only a certain number of devices can access the Internet via a hotspot, depending on carrier limitations, et cetera. It is per se not necessary to be connected to the Internet in order to print to an HP LaserJet Pro M15w.

The LaserJet Pro M15w is capable of using Wi-Fi Direct (https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-m14-m17-printer-series/16647043/document/c04577030), meaning that a device could print directly to a printer, without going over a Wi-Fi router. Could this possibly be an alternative in your case?

Using a special technique, it may even be possible to use AirPrint in connection with a Wi-Fi Direct printer (click on "How do I use AirPrint if a Wi-Fi network is not available?" in the following article for details: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-m14-m17-printer-series/16647043/document/c02623193).

The first assumption is correct; 12.4.6..

I have printed pdf files directly from the iphone... however some time to thoroughly consider & process the suggestions and resources is needful in my case, especially as it is new ground to me: VERY HELPFUL : I will dilligently apply myself to address & 'mull over' the information you have provided AND respond appropriately as it unfolds,

Thank uou Jan Warringer !
