vertical cropping in iMovie 10.1.14
I'd like to crop my video to be vertical, but iMovie only allows horizontal cropping. How can I change the frame size to match vertical iPhone.

Hi, Benswing,
Cropping a clip in the timeline relegates you to the horizontal landscape mode. However, you can crop a clip in the browser view to any dimensions that you want to make it vertical. Here's a link that explains the process:

When you crop it to vertical mode and put the clip in the timeline you will get black bars on each side to make it fit iMovie's 16:9 horizontal screen. The black bars will show up in the shared out movie as well. To get rid of the black bars, you can use the timeline crop tool to rotate the clip sideways to fill the screen. Then share it out and use QuickTimePlayer to rotate it right side up again.
