Why isn't my iCloud mailbox listed? When I try to add it, I'm told it's already there.

Why isn't my iCloud mailbox listed? It worked before and then suddenly it's no longer there and I can't get it back! When I try to add it back in, I'm told it's already there.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

Check settings, tap your name at the top, then iCloud. Make sure the switch for mail is enabled. If it is, try turning it off and back on.
