I am trying to pair my Apple Watch to a different phone but keeps saying the activation lock is on with a iCloud starting with a M which is incorrect
You have to remove the watch from the previous phone it was paired with,if you bought the watch off some else then they need to follow these steps;

Try this;
On a computer, go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
Go to Find Iphone.
Select All Devices, then click your Apple Watch.
Click Erase Apple Watch.
Select Next until the device is erased.
Click the remove button next to your Apple Watch.
I am the original owner I brought the phone brand new my iCloud doesn’t start with a M so I don’t understand why I’m getting that error
