How Do I Move My Audio Books From Books And Back To iTunes? I Need To For My iPod Classic

I downloaded catalina and the audiobooks that were in my iTunes library moved themselves to the Books app. I have an iPod Classic so I need those audiobooks back onto itunes so I can listen to them. I tried dragging them out of Books onto my desktop and than drag them back onto iTunes but they became .m4b files and wouldn't go back into my iTunes library. How can I transfer them back to iTunes or atleast convert the .m4b files back to .mp3 so I can reupload them?

Thanks

Well, yes, the Music app does show what is on your iDevice, but it doesn't sync, and it doesn't do anything but music.

If you click on Sync Settings… it will take you to the Finder.

Everything that was jammed into iTunes has been split out into individual apps.

Music is now just music. Podcasts are in Podcasts.

Books now has a section for Audiobooks.

All syncing is done in the Finder.

It doesn’t exist? I know all the online stuff swapped to ‘Music’ but I still have my iTunes library, I still have all the music and videos in my iTunes library that I bought via the Apple store and by burning my CDs to mp3s? And I still use iTunes to transfer my songs to my iPod Classic as per normal.

Maybe the online version doesn’t exist anymore??? But it definitely still exists.
