How to get a correction for an underlined word?

Before when I made a typo I would tap on the word underlined in red and a correction would pop up. Since ios13 it has become a real pain. I click on the misspelled word and there would only be “select” and “select all” options. It’s become extremely annoying especially remembering how perfectly convenient it used to be before. In iOS 13.4 what do I need to do to get this correction??

And I don’t really understand why Apple would take a great feature and turn into something so painful to use. Obviously the functionality was there before but no any longer? Why on earth??
