How do I get the brightness to stop changing by itself? The auto-brightness settings are turned off

Both of those settings were already off and the brightness continues to adjust

Hello BusyBEasy,

I understand the brightness of your iPhone displaying is changing on its own even though Auto is disabled in Settings > Display & brightness. I can certainly understand why you would want to have full control over how bright your screen gets. I'm happy to help you out with this.

First go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Night Shift. If that is enabled there, disable it. If the issue persists, go back to Display & Brightness and disable True Tone if you have it enabled there. Both of these settings can control the brightness and colors of your iPhone display and may be the culprit.

I also recommend updating your iPhone if you have an update available: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Keeping your iPhone updated will help ensure it runs as smoothly as possible.

Take care.
