Dark mode stuck on iPhone 13 iOS 16

I can’t figure out why it happened or how to fix it, but my iPhone 13 switched itself to dark mode and I can’t get it to turn off. I’ve restarted my phone several times and it will start up regularly, but when I start navigating around and opening apps, it switches itself to dark mode. Can anyone help? Thank you!

Hi, I solved this another way. Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap > Double Tap > Classic Invert. Then I ‘double back-tapped’ the phone twice, and it was back to normal.

I think this problem happened to me because I switched phones. The old one had a home button set up for accessibility-dark mode. The settings transfer to the new phone maybe had something to do with it.

You might be facing this issue because the automatic Dark Mode switching is enabled on your iPhone. Consider turning off the automatic Dark Mode switching on your iPhone.

Go to Settings app >>> Go to Display & Brightness >>> Turn off Automatic.

Also, check your iPhone's Accessibility Settings.

Go to Settings >>> Accessibility >>> Display & Text Size >>> Scroll down and turn off Smart Invert and Classic Invert if it's on.

Not all the apps are available in light mode. Some of the app you will find which is only available in dark mode. So, please do check that as well.

Heya

as per-

Force Restart Your iPhone

Force restarting your iPhone is a tried-and-tested way of resolving temporary iOS-related glitches. Doing so closes all the background processes and gives your iPhone a fresh start.

To force restart your iPhone, press and release the Volume Up button, then press and release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Wait for your iPhone to restart and then try to turn off dark mode again.

Thank you for your reply, however, I'm still unable to turn Dark Mode off and keep it off. In response to each of your tips:

1 - I have never turned on Dark Mode, it just happened after the iOS 16 update.

2 - I was able to add Dark Mode to the Control Center, but when I select either Dark or Light Mode from the Control Center, nothing changes.

3 - When I go to Settings and select Display & Brightness and switch between Light and Dark in that area, the screen switches from Light to Dark and vice versa but when I close out of Settings I'm still in Dark Mode no matter what I selected - even if I set a schedule for Dark Mode.

4 - as I said in my original post, if I power off my phone and restart, it opens in Light Mode, but randomly switches to Dark Mode as I navigate around and open apps. The only thing I think I've noticed is that it switches to Dark Mode if I use an app that requires the internet. It doesn't happen if I open iMessage, Phone, Contacts, Apple Mail, Calendar, Music, Utilities, Wallet or apps like FaceBook. But when I open my banking app or Safari, for example, it flips to Dark Mode.

Any further advice? Could it be an iOS 16 issue? Thanks for any advice and hoping for a resolve!
