Contacts Problem

when I go to "contacts" and either try to add an address or phone#'s or anything else it just glitches a lot and what I am trying to enter just disappears. sometimes it takes up to 10 times before it takes and saves the entries I make. Very irritating! is there a fix for this problem I have an iphone XR IOS 13.5. This has been happening for almost a year
