45W MagSafe 2 doesn’t charge

Battery drained on MacBook Air (2015) so 45 W MagSafe doesn’t work (no green light). Is it the cable or computer that doesn’t work? Was working fine until yesterday.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14

The LED behavior is controlled by the Mac, but a failure of either the power adapter or cord can also result in its failure to illuminate.

Thank you for your response. I was able to locate a new charging cable and it works. Don’t know why the original one stopped working but I a happy it is not the laptop.

Great! You may find this excerpt from Find the right power adapter and cable for your Mac useful:

If the cable says "Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in China" but has no serial number, you might be eligible for a replacement USB-C charge cable.

The printing may be very faint, but look into that possibility.
