Downloaded music is gone

I have canceled my Apple Music subscription for a month to see if I need the music app. At the start of my experiment I had over three gigabytes of music downloaded and I got to know that I can keep all of it. But all my music has erased with no comeback and when I renewed my subscription music did not come back. It is very sad and is there any way to bring back my music collection because I have spend many hours of organizing my music into playlists and the music I had might not come back.
