corrupt terminal program - how do I reinstall?

How do I resolve this issue with the terminal program being corrupt?

CalDigit thunderbolt 3 hub. My monitor and ethernet stopped working. I contacted CalDigit who suggested running a NVRAM reset terminal application and entering the following command: sudo nvram -c - terminal program is corrupt and won't launch. Help

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15
