I have a 2009 iMac (High Sierra) and a 2015 MacBook Pro (Catalina) that cannot airdrop since the "don't see the device you're looking for?" feature was removed from Catalina.
Please restore this feature! It was extremely useful.
In the meantime, what is the easiest way to:
a) get the airdrop to function for these two computers
or
B) wirelessly transfer data in some other way for the two computers

Thanks for the reply! I’m trying the file sharing route as it’s less invasive. I never learn my lesson and wait to update the OS Until I know what has been removed. Would be good if they brought back support for the airdrop but won’t hold my breath hah. Apple is very good at looking forward but it’s tough when you want to keep the old Macs in the loop. Just hate to give up on them! Thanks again
Yes, don’t hold your breath. Apple doesn’t write an OS for 10-year-old Macs. They write an OS for their currently shipping products.They do not hold onto Legacy code that is no longer useful to the currently shipping products.
a) downgrade the Catalina Mac to Mojave or earlier.
B) turn on File Sharing and use that.
