iPhone is disabled

Ok my son gave my husband his old IPhone 6S and it was working until my husband, who didn’t put in a passcode to the phone, and was just using it my the touch to open got an update on the phone overnight and then he couldn’t open it anymore without a passcode! So I did all the things it says to do online with the computer hookup and all but it still says iPhone disabled connect to ITunes! Any suggestions for me?
