Netflix is gone from Apple TV search
Until recently, when I used the universal search function on my Apple TV, results would show up for content on Netflix, but now it no longer does. How do I fix this?

Hi LKP301,
I understand Netflix content is not being found via the search function on you Apple TV.
I would recommend following the steps here: If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Cheers!

Hello again LKP301,
Thanks for trying the above steps.
Go ahead and restart your Apple TV. You can learn how to do so here: How to restart your Apple TV.
If the issue persists, I would recommend restoring your Apple TV. You can learn how to do so here: Reset or restore your Apple TV to its factory settings.
Thanks again.
I can confirm that search results no longer indicate when a show is available in Netflix. It's impossible to tell whether this is a result of a change by Netflix or by Apple in the Apple TV app.
I do know that Netflix was never an official participant in the Apple TV app and search results that showed up their previously were a result of Apple possibly using a work around to make it happen.
It's a shame that we lost that functionality it really helped even though Netflix wasn't a full participant in the TV app.

This is by design. Netflix was never a participant in the Apple TV app integration. It is up to the app developer to decide whether they want to integrate with the Apple TV app. The fact that shows available in Netflix where showing up in search results was a work around created by Apple. That work around seems to have been disabled.
Yes I totally understand it is Apple politics. Over the years Apple has had many similar disputes with other companies. Microsoft, Adobe and many others come to mind.
we could wake up tomorrow and apple and Netflix have made up and all is well.
That's absolutely not what I wrote. I would not characterize the situation as 'Apple politics' or a 'dispute' especially since it is a Netflix decision not to participate in the Apple TV app integration.
Actually, I just did some additional experimentation and it seems that the behaviour has only changed slightly from its previous behaviour.
Before, if you searched for something and it was available in Netflix as well as other services it would list it as available in Netflix along with all the other services. Now, it seems, it only lists a show as available in Netflix if it is a Netflix exclusive.
That didn’t solve the problem.
