I keep getting an error when trying to log into my Apple ID saying “verification failed, The application you have selected does not exist”
this is on my iPhone 8, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 2.

I'm also experiencing this today (June 2, 2020), but on a Mac.
Maybe some more detail that could help: this morning I got an error "Your Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons." Not entirely sure what happened, I went through the recommended steps and reset my password on a MacBook Pro (2019 - work laptop), and then logged in to AppleID/iCloud again. I repeated this on my iPhone XS successfully. I was also able to log in to my AppleTV successfully.
This evening, I opened up my MacBook Pro (2015 - personal laptop) and got prompted to log back in with Apple ID - not surprising. But I got the "The application you have selected does not exist" error repeatedly. I rebooted also. No luck.

Same, then I tried to change my password and that didn’t work and I signed out but now I can’t sign back in because it says my account doesn’t exist. But I just created this account using my info and it worked. Yet still can’t sign in on my phone
Same. Happening on my iPhone and Mac. Changed my password. Came here and was actually able to log with credentials, but still can't on phone etc. The error is still reading "The application you have selected does not exist."
I am having the same problem. I just received an Apple Watch for my birthday and it said this and I changed my password and it still didn’t work? I received it within the watch app and in the settings
tried to upload a new card to applepay and that is how I found the issue - changed my password 3 times - still nothing so googled it and found this thread..................ugh!!! Did the rioters get to apple servers -LOL
I am having the same issue on all my apple devices. All of the sudden it seems like everything logged out. I keep getting that same message everytime I put my password. Did everything from resetting my devices to changing my password and nothing seems to work
It just happened to me all my devices iPad Pro iphone 11 and Apple Watch series 5 all just signed me out and when i go to sign back in it says this error I know my password but its still messed up?
Tried calling apple support line and it seems like it had got in and they hung up when calling back lines are now busy
Same problem. Happened after trying to use Apple Pay. Asked for me to log in for verification, I kept getting this error when entering my password. I then changed my password, which accepted, then tried again. I keep getting this error. More and more things are asking for my login which it still doesn’t accept. I’ve cycled the phone and still nothing.
I see there's already a lot of replies, but just wanted to add that I'm having the same issue on multiple devices (iPhone xR, iPad pro 10.5, iMac). I am seeing this error when trying to both sign in to my account and verify my account, as well as when trying to enroll in the App Developer Program. Hopefully there's a fix soon!
The exact same thing is happening to me right now. I even changed my password thinking that was the problem but it still gives me the same response. “The application you have selected does not exist.”
My wife is getting the same error as you. I also just tried to update the apps on my iPhone and it’s saying “unable to purchase” and failed to download the application.
So, I suspect something is going on even though the status page says it’s fine.
My iPhone asked for Apple ID password so I entered it and it said “verification failed, The application you have selected does not exist”. I changed the password again and it did same thing so I did forget password again and it failed again. Open PC to log on to this site and password worked on HP PC apple website. Tried on my mac and it failed like it did on iPhone and all apple TVs are doing the same thing.
Same here, and seems is a recurring problem with a lot of people. Thought my credentials might be compromised but cant even get the password changed as it will fail when i log into the page to change it.
me too! just came home with a new iphone. tried to start it up and im suddenly i am locked from my iphone, ipad, macbook and apple watch. stuck listening to Jazz music on my pal's phone waiting for help on the support line :( 😔
same deal here, punted out of my account on all devices; changed the password to no avail, now when I log into the website it pulls up the dashboard then immediate logs me out as soon as the page posts (~500ms) and tells me my session has timed out.
This just started. I was good all day. When I got home it crashed because it said my “wallet” took my card off. I tried to enter my password and crash again. Now I’m logged out. And can’t log back in. Apple fail big time.
