FCPX Backup Zip

Hi guys, I'm about to upgrade to 10.4.8 so I'm making sure I have backups of everything & XML's. I understand it's a good idea to zip compress my current version of FCPX but in the event I need to restore it do I just copy the zipped version back in the applications folder? I was unsure of the reinstall process and can't find a straight answer anywhere. Posted in the FCPX facebook group and can't get a clean answer on the restore process.

There is no need to zip it. You can simply copy it, preferably to a different hard drive. Alter its name as Luis suggests so there will be no confusion.

If you need to reinstall it, simply put an unzipped version of FCP X back in the Applications folder.

Incidentally, FCP X can be launched from pretty much anywhere on your computer. I have launched and used copies on my Desktop.
