i can't open my mail program. Nothing shows up
macbook pro - my email program just isn't showing at all - I can open and close but no inbox or anything shows.

Which email app are you referring to? The Apple Mail app that comes with your MacBook Pro? Did you have all your email addresses set up previously and now they are not showing up?
You can open System Preferences app and then click on Internet Accounts. If you had any accounts setup previously then they should show up asa list under Internet Accounts. Highlight each one of those (if there are more than one) and ensure that MAIL is checked in the column next to it.
