IPhone 6 Plus - Gmail Account not connecting

Hi, Does anyone have a work around on how to load a gmail account on their IPhone 6 plus. when i am trying to load the account i am receiving the following error message "the IMAP server ''imap.gmail.com' is not responding. Is there a work around to fix this issue.

Your Gmail settings are causing the problem, not your iPhone.


In a web browser, go to your Gmail account and check:

-Settings (gear at top-right just below your initials) > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > IMAP access > Enable IMAP


-Google Account (your initials at the top-right) > Manage your Google account > Secure account > Recent Security Events, then click Yes where it asks if you tried to sign in using your iPhone
