Have to keep connecting AirPods 2 Mac/iphone 11

I first connected my new airpods to my iphone using the button on the case. Connected fine.

Whenever I go to use my airpods with my macbook pro, the only way to use them is to do a full connect process.

Then if I go back to my iphone, it doesn't recognize the airpods and i have to start over.

What am I missing?

Switching AirPods between devices I just bought a MacBook Air and my AirPods Pro wont seamlessly switch between my iPhone and my Mac. I always get a little notification at the top right corner that they are being detected but I have to press the connect button. If I do not press it the sound will come out through the speakers. I know its just a little click but I am really used to them just switching between my iPhone and iPad. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Airpods Pro connect fine with my phone, but not with my Mac? My airpods Pro connect fine with my iPhone 8 Plus, but when i try and connect them to my Macbook Pro, they connect for a second then disconnect; then when i try to connect them, it shows them loading as if they're trying to connect but they never end up doing so. The only way i can connect them to Macbook is if i Forget them on my iPhone, reset them, then pair them with my Macbook as if they were a new device. But should i not have to do that though? I'm pretty sure these airpods are recognizable on all icloud devices once they're paired, so why aren't they able to connect?

When swapping between devices, all you need to do is go to the bluetooth on the device and press on the AirPods and press connect.

Does that work on your device?
