Where do I find the 6 digit verification code on the IPAD? I need to pair a smart watch using IOS

No 6 digit verification code I am trying to pair my watch to my phone but it won't work using the scanning devise and when i try manually there is no 6 digit code appearing on the watch. My apple watch is second hand. First series i believe. My friend reset the watch and diconnected it from her apple ID.

You can generate a Verification Code here:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > Password & Security > Get Verification Code
