⌘S will not save, ⌘W will not close in 10.5

I'm confused about what is keeping the typical key commands from working in Logic Pro X 10.5. For example. when I press ⌘S, the File menu highlights, but the project isn't saved. If I make the menu choice, the project is saved. I've switched keyboard presets and I've even initialized all key command in the Key Commands window. Thanks.

I initialized key commands again, then restarted the computer, and the commands seemed to work as expected. I don't know how they were compromised. I don't know why I wasn't informed that the computer or Logic Pro X needed to be restarted in order for the resets to become active.

The problem returned. It appears to be intermittent. I don't understand what could cause this problem, but it appears to be related to having more than one project open at a time. If Key Commands are now specific to projects rather than being global settings, that could be part of the issue. Other problems I've had since upgrading to 10.5 point to the possibility that project-specific settings that used to be global may have been introduced in 10.5. But I can't find any documentation to that effect.

Because of other problems I've experienced in 10.5 when multiple projects are open, I'm starting to believe that the function of being able to keep multiple projects open is not robust in 10.5. I don't seem to be able to mark this question as unsolved, but if I could, I would.
