Pairing hearing aid to new Apple Watch

I currently pair my Resound Quattro Lynx hearing aid to my iPhone with the Resound App. There is an app for the phone but I can seem to pair them so that I can listen to phone calls or podcasts on walks except thru my phone. Is this because I don’t have cellular or can the hearing aids only connect to one device

Apple watch series 5 and MFI hearing aids I have a pair of "Made for iPhone" (MFI) hearing aids, which pair happily with my iPhone X, through the Apple Accessibility menu. Last week I bought the cellular version of the Apple Watch, series 5. Does anyone know if I can pair the hearing aids to the Apple Watch, in such a way that I can then use the watch/hearing aids independently of the iPhone?
