Ford - Apple Car Play Intermittent connection issue

I’m having issues with my 2020 Ford Escape connecting to Apple car play. I noticed if the car doesn’t have the chance to completely shut off between plugging in my phone (quick run into a store) then it won’t connect. I rarely have an issue when the car has been off for more than an hour.

In previous posts I didn’t see a solid resolution. Has anyone figured out what is causing this issue? My phone has been upgraded to the latest IOS and continues to have the same issue.

Hello Teplm

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. From what I am understanding is your Apple CarPlay in your Ford Escape is intermittent not working, mainly when unplugging and connecting the iPhone in quick session of the car not being off, correct? Let's take a look into this!

If the car is running and you plug the iPhone out/in does the issue continue? Here is a article of troubleshooting steps with Apple CarPlay: If you need help with CarPlay

I would encourage you to reach out to Apple Support directly. They will be able to provide you with additional troubleshooting in the vehicle: Contact Apple Support

If the issue persist, I would encourage reaching out the Ford Support: Ford Support

Hopefully this help!

Cheers!
