imdpersistenceagent and fan/heat/memory overload on 2019 Macbook Pro

Hi all. New to posting on forums. Have tried to talk to chat and phone support numerous times about this since I got the new Macbook Pro 2019 in December. I had a heat/fan issue with my 2015 MBP and had expected it to be resolved with the new MBP...no such luck. The issue often seems to come from imdpersistenceagent and other processes hogging memory. The heat/fan does not seem to correlate with more/less programs. I am only using simple things such as chrome, imessage, etc. The most data heavy thing i'd use is R Studio which isn't very intensive. I'll attach photos of both my memory and CPU pages. My computer gets so hot that it makes me not even want to work...because the computer makes me warm. PLEASE HELP lol....losing faith quickly that apple tech support will solve it. Thank you!

Hey there abigail_mbp,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re experiencing some performance issues with your Mac that seem related to IMDpersistenceAgent and other process’. I’ll be happy to help with this.

Open System Preferences, click on General and see if Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices is enabled. If so, uncheck this option and restart your Mac. See if this has any impact on the issue:

Also, there are a number of Google Chrome Helpers using the %CPU. I would advise checking with the third-party and seeing if all of these are needed: How to contact an app developer

I hope this helps.

Take care.
