My iPhone 8 cannot connect to my iMac unless I upgrade to later software.

My iPhone 8 (iOS 13.4.1) can not connect to my iMac unless i upgrade to later software. my iMac is mid 2011 and running mac OS Sierra 10.12.6. As far as I know High Sierra is the latest version.

The popup window message is:

A software update is necessary to be able to connect iPhone 8. Would you like to install this update now?

Which software version will be installed if I accept the installation?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.12

I'd download it from https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208969 and then it doesn't hurt to run the update combo which gets you to 10.13.6 the most current release. The update combo is at https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1970?locale=en_US
