I got my new iphone 11 yesterday and it doesnt lock, even though I have turned on passcode and face id. It just says swipe up to open. Can anyone help please?

Thank you for your reply. I figuired it out, it was my face id that keeps unlocking the phone, so when I tokk off face id it would ask me for my passcode. Thanks for your help.
