New iPad Pro will not allow me to receive email because it’s my Apple ID

I cannot set up my email on my iPad Pro because my email address is my Apple ID

Your AppleID is merely a “username” for your AppleID account. Whilst you may have an associated Apple-provided email address, it should not impact your ability to configure an email account in most cases.

Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Add Account

That’s the way it’s supposed to work. Your Apple ID should be a working email address. It doesn’t have to be your primary email address, but it can be that email address if you prefer to do it that way. I set up email accounts for 3 different email providers on my iOS devices and one of those accounts uses my Apple ID email address.


What you are saying makes no sense. Please explain what you are doing and what is not working.
